Buzzard from GameBuzzard.com posted this article a few days…
Studio head Vince Zampella declined to break down sales by the game’s various platforms (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and DS), but he did say that the Xbox 360 edition had been the most successful to date breaking the 10 million mark. Only a handful of games can make that statement and don’t look for COD4 or 5 to make a debut on thw Wii. As Zampella explains “It just doesn’t fit on the Wii, we thought it would be compromised to be on [that] platform.” I agree with Zampella all the way. The target audience for the Wii isn’t even the same as it is for Xbox 360 or PS3 and wouldn’t work.

According to Wikipedia, this is a breakdown on the sale of the initial 7 million 4 units up until January 2008….

In the US, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions sold 1.57 million and 444,000 units, respectively, in November 2007. 1.47 million units of the Xbox 360 version were sold in December 2007. The game sold 331,000 copies for the Xbox 360 and 140,000 copies for the PlayStation 3 in January 2008. The Xbox 360 version was the third best-selling video game of 2007 in the U.S. with 3.04 million units sold, behind Halo 3 which sold 4.82 million units, according to the NPD Group. As of January 2008, Call of Duty 4 has sold more than seven million copies worldwide, and was the best-selling game of 2007.

If you’re one of the few rabid gamers who hasn’t already bought this amazing game that delivers an added depth of multiplayer action providing online fans an all-new community of persistence and customizable gameplay, you should consider the special Game of the Year Edition of Call of Duty 4 which includes a token to download the Variety Map Pack, a series of four new multiplayer maps.

Halo 3 is the third game in the Halo Trilogy and the thrilling conclusion to the events begun in Halo: Combat Evolved. Master Chief returns to finish the fight, bringing the epic conflict between the Covenant, the Flood, and the entire human race to a dramatic, pulse-pounding climax. The Covenant occupation of Earth has uncovered a massive and ancient object beneath the African sands - an object whose secrets have yet to be revealed. Earth’s forces are battered and beaten. The Master Chief’s AI companion Cortana is still trapped in the clutches of the Gravemind - a horrifying Flood intelligence, and a civil war is raging in the heart of the Covenant. It’s all been building to this — a desperate, final war that leads to a soul-shattering climax of epic proportions. Take control of Master Chief to defeat the Covenant and destroy the Flood to prevent the annihilation of the human race.

Time Magazine rated Halo 3 the #1 video game of 2007 had this to say

Like a pebble that has been rounded over the centuries by the gentle splashing of the ocean waves, Halo 3 has become the perfect hardcore first-person combat simulator. By dint of painstaking labor on the part of its developer, Bungie, it has been refined over three installments to the point where it delivers only pure, unadulterated gaming bliss. Every combat is even-sided and complex and can be waged in multiple ways, using an arsenal of long- and short-range weapons, plus grenades and hand-to-hand moves. Every level is perfectly paced and balanced and graced with soaring architectural compositions. Plus it’s graphically gorgeous. The epic storyline and the stirring score don’t hurt either. In one of the greatest years video gaming has ever seen, Halo 3 is the very best of the bunch.
